Fredericton reopens City Hall Service Centre with enhanced service options

The Service Centre at Fredericton City Hall will be reopening to the public effective June 1.

A release states the reopening follows the health and safety protocols as set out by the Chief Medical Officer of Health, and features an enhanced customer service option to pre-book appointments.

Manager of Financial Services & Service Fredericton Jihad El Zamer says in a release, "new in-person safety measures include a hand-sanitizing station at the entry, physical distancing signage reminders, as well as physical barriers installed at counters that allow for safer interaction with customers."

The City offers online payment options for most of its services, and El Zamer says residents are encouraged to keep exercising that option.

The release states residents who must go to the Service Centre in person should pre-book their appointment online or by calling Service Fredericton.

Public Health is strongly encouraging the public to wear community face masks when out in the community and physical distancing is not always possible.

The preferred methods of payment at the Service Centre are debit and credit card at this time, though cash, personal check and money order are still being accepted.

Service Centre hours are Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays.
