Modular bridge to be installed after closure of Cap-Pelé structure

New Brunswick

The New Brunswick government has come up with a temporary solution for a bridge that was closed after it was damaged by post-tropical storm Dorian.

The Kouchibouguac River bridge number one in Cap-Pelé was closed on September 20th due to the possibility of collapse.

The provincial Transportation Department says planning is expected to be completed this month for a modular bridge while it works on a long-term plan for a permanent structure.

The installation of the modular bridge is expected to be complete before the spring, if weather allows.
