Emergency exercise at Fredericton Airport Wednesday afternoon
The Fredericton International Airport Authority (FIAA) says an emergency preparedness exercise is scheduled to take place at the airport on Wednesday afternoon.
In a release, the FIAA says the purpose of the live exercise is to test the coordinated response of all parts of the emergency response system.
On Wednesday, the public will see emergency vehicles and personnel including the RCMP and Oromocto and Fredericton Fire Departments at the airport, as well as smoke on the airfield.
The FIAA notes the exercise is not open to the public, as it will take place on the airfield, which is a restricted area.
Regularly scheduled flights will not be impacted by the emergency exercise.
The exercise is scheduled for between 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday October 9.
