Mixed winter precipitation expected for Fredericton Friday
Environment Canada says a significant dumping of snow, ice pellets and possible freezing rain are expected Friday and Saturday.
Forecasters say periods of snow will become mixed with or change over to ice pellets during the day Friday and there is a risk of freezing rain for much of the day and early this evening.
The weather agency says precipitation will change back to snow Friday night and end overnight, with total snowfall amounts expected to reach between 10 and 15 cm.
Environment Canada is also warning against unnecessary travel, with strong winds tonight likely causing reduced visibility in blowing snow over exposed areas.
