Ottawa helping Atelier Gérard Beaulieu buy new production equipment

The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) is giving $500,000 in funding to help the Saint-Quentin based company purchase new production equipment.

A release says the new equipment will improve productivity and reduce energy consumption, which in turn will create increased exports and maintain jobs in the community.

Marc Beaulieu, President, Atelier Gérard Beaulieu, says "ACOA's investment will enable AGB to acquire manufacturing automation tools. These tools will allow us to be much faster, thus reducing delivery times and significantly reducing manufacturing costs. With these, we will also maximize the use of raw materials, which means less waste and savings of time and money. We will therefore be more flexible and have less chance of error when cutting."

The funds are being provided under the Regional Economic Growth through Innovation (REG) Steel and Aluminum Initiative, announced in March 2019.
