Instagram Has Introduced Something Called 'Co Watching'
I’m gonna be one less lonely girl!
You know the drill these days with social media and the amount of time we’re spending inside. I mean, if you’re someone who never really got into social media at all and you’ve been spending your time reading and writing and educating yourself, without being swallowed whole by the online world, then I definitely applaud you. If this sounds like you, you’re so much better off than the rest of us.
If you’re like me, however, you may be spending more time on Instagram these days than ever before. It kind of plays the role of an escape in many ways. You get to scroll through and see what other people are up to, keep up to date with the world (although it’s a little gloomy these days) and also, the memes right now are absolute fire which isn’t the worst thing in the world.
Instagram has recognized how solely we’re relying on them right now, and I’m sure they’ve seen their usage go up by like a billion percent as a result of all of the boredom, but they’ve come up with an ingenious idea. They’ve got something going now called ‘co-watching’. This, to my understanding, is where you can hop on a video call within the app and scroll with your friends, so that scrolling becomes a much less lonely thing to do. Who would’ve ever even thought of this before the world fell into a pandemic!
If you’re anything like me, you’re picturing yourself this weekend scrolling through Instagram with your girlfriends on video call, and you won’t even have to DM them that meme so they can see it, because you’ll be able to see it for the first time, together. As Justin Bieber predicted for us years ago, there’s going to be one less lonely girl.
…And guess what? That girl is YOU THIS WEEKEND WHILE YOU’RE NO LONGER A LONE WOLF ON INSTAGRAM.
