'The Rock' Reminisced About Playing For The Calgary Stampeders on Twitter This Weekend
There are a lot of different things about Calgary that are super easy to love, and a whole lot of reasons why all of us (or at least most of us) really do enjoy living here. I mean, we’ve got the mountains, we’ve got a ton of tourist attractions, so many beautiful hikes right nearby and the night life is next level (when life is carrying on as normal).
If you’re anything like me, you sometimes forget about another super cool part about Calgary. That Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson used to live here AND play for the Calgary Stampeders. It’s so crazy going to McMahon stadium and thinking… wow, the rock once played here. Like, we run into Calgary Stampeders at the bar ALL THE TIME. Imagine being at the bar and waiting for a drink at Craft on 10th and someone came up to you and tried to buy you a drink and it was DWAYNE THE ROCK JOHNSON. I mean, I’m sure it’s happened to girls of the past.
Either way, my point is, he was reminiscing on Instagram this weekend about when he was on the stamps, as they wished him a happy birthday on Twitter, and he talked about how much fun he had when he was living here, check this out:
Thank you, fam for the birthday love. You forgot to add the fact that in 1996 I also suffered from good judgment, after I decided to walk out of the house in a turtleneck and fanny pack 🤦🏽♂️ https://t.co/6yl3TadCM5— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) May 3, 2020
I don’t know about you but this kind of memory excites me, and it makes Calgary an even COOLER place to live!
