WATCH: Orville Peck, Shania Twain Debut 'Legends Never Die'
Canadian country stars Orville Peck and Shania Twain perform a drive-in concert in the video for their collaboration “Legends Never Die.”
“I cannot thank Shania enough for being part of this. She has always been a hero of mine and her music made me feel so empowered growing up,” said Peck, who was born in South Africa but spent most of his life in Vancouver and Toronto.
“As cliché as it sounds, recording with her and getting to get up on stage and sing with her in Nashville is a dream come true. No words really.”
The song comes from Peck’s new EP Show Pony, which includes previously released “No Glory In The West” and “Summertime.”
In April, Peck said he was working on new music during the COVID-19 lockdown. He was forced to cancel his spring/summer tour dates, including sets at festivals like Coachella and Stagecoach in California and Montreal’s Osheaga. “Economically it will be tough but I think art has always persevered and even thrived through the worst of times,” he said. “If anything, we can always find hope in that.”
Directed by Cameron Duddy, the "Legends Never Die" video includes cameos by John Waters and RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Jaida Essence Hall. Watch it below:
