Where to Spot the Lyrid Meteor Shower near YEG this Week

You and your sweetie pie can wish on some stars together this week.

Scientifically speaking, you’ll actually be wishing on meteors.

The Lyrid Meteor Shower is happening this week, usually peaks around April 22 each year.

You could however see the sky lit up until April 30th (provided the sky is nice and clear and the full moon isn’t polluting the dark sky with light).

Near Edmonton is actually a Dark Sky preserve; Elk Island National Park is actually part of one and if the conditions are right, it’d be the perfect spot to see the stars with a thermos of hot chocolate!
