Working from home might seem fun, but it’s not for everyone. It can be difficult to separate the two and stay focused. Here are some tips to keep up your routine and stay sane in these times of uncertainty.

 

  • Set your usual alarm and get up as if you’re going to work. Continue with your usual morning routine, make your breakfast, workout and get dressed. Obviously you don’t need to (or want to) put on a full face of make-up and heels but, don’t stay in your PJ’s.

  • Start work at your scheduled time.

  • Designate a specific work space. It doesn’t have to be an office; it can be a corner of your kitchen or dining room. Make sure to keep it tidy and free of clutter.

  • Take scheduled breaks. Get up from your work space and get lunch, have a coffee break in the afternoon, or even get some fresh air on your deck or backyard.

  • Don’t watch TV while working.

  • Schedule time for specific task, do things in small chunks. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or unfocused, take a break.

  • If you’re working from home with your significant other or children set boundaries. Make sure they know that you need quiet and space to work.

  • Set a specific time to end your work day and leave your work there.

 


And of course, wash your hands and don’t touch your face!
