Ian Janes’ makes pop songs that are deeply influenced by soul, R&B and jazz.
(His latest single) ‘Other Than Everything’ is about wishing so badly that you didn’t have to have something… that you didn’t want to want it. But at the same time knowing that you’d be miserable without it.
It’s a soulful, grimey musing on our weaknesses.
The intense crawl of the live drums and beats, the dirty analog keys and sparkly synths, and thumpin electric bass are topped by searing guitar hooks and layered vocals.
Ian has been featured in international magazines such as American Songwriter and Rolling Stone France, and has had his music used in various film and television productions on networks including HBO, CMT, and Nickelodeon.
