YouTuber Who Defamed Cardi B Files For Bankruptcy

A YouTuber who was ordered last year to pay Cardi B millions of dollars for defamation has filed for bankruptcy.

The rap star sued Latasha Kebe in 2019 over videos on the unWinewithTashaK channel and social media posts with salacious claims about her.

Kebe was found liable by a jury in January 2022 for defamation, invasion of privacy through portrayal in a false light and intentional infliction of emotional distress. She was ordered to pay Cardi B damages and legal fees totalling nearly $3.4 million (all figures U.S.).

After the verdict, Cardi B tweeted “BBHMM” – an acronym for “b**ch better have my money.”

Turns out, she doesn’t. Last week, Kebe filed a petition in a Florida court seeking bankruptcy protection and claiming she has less only $58,595 in assets, including a pickup truck, a pair of designer handbags and $95 in her bank account.

According to the filing, Cardi B’s lawyers already garnished $10,000 in Kebe’s YouTube account.
