Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Grossed Over $1 Billion In 2023

ERASTOUR

The accomplishments just keep an coming for Taylor Swift this week. After being named TIME's Person of the Year and the fifth most powerful women in the world by Forbes, her Eras Tour has just been confirmed as the first tour in history to gross more than $1 billion in ticket sales alone.

Pollstar reports that Swift's 2023 tour brought in $1,039,263,762, which makes it the single highest-grossing tour of all time. The figure was determined through "extensive research including ticket prices in each market, record capacities at each venue and comparable tour data," according to the site.

Swift achieved the feat in just 60 shows, which began at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ on March 17 and ended on November 11 at Estadio Más Monumental in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Approximately 4.3 million tickets were sold for an average ticket price of $238.95 USD, which generated a stagger $17,321,063 per show.

As expensive as that sounds, Pollstar notes that Eras was not the most expensive ticket on the market. According to the 2023 Worldwide Tours chart, the tour ranked only the fifth highest.

Another eye-popping number comes Eras' $1.04 billion take nabbing 11.3% of the entire Top 100 Worldwide Tour Chart gross, which is $9.17 billion.

Pollstar also projects Swift took in another $200 million for merchandise alone. On top of that comes revenue from the theatrical release of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, which has brought in $250 million in box office receipts and is schedule to add to that once it is released on-demand next week (December 13), on her birthday.

Of course, Swift has a second leg of the tour coming in 2024, including shows in Toronto and Vancouver, which is expected to help it cross the $2 billion mark.
