Staycations: ‘Glamping’ and Outdoor Thrill-seeking in BC’s Interior!

Since vacations are limited to local destinations this year, our hosts are sharing their vacation experiences to give you some ideas on local destinations to visit this summer! Check out Ari's trip to BC's Interior!

We started the week off by driving to Nakusp, in the West Kootenays. Nakusp has plenty of beautiful hikes, scenic views and a couple of pristine hot springs resorts. After spending a couple days trailer 'glamping' there just off 'Upper Arrow Lake', we then drove back into the interior and made our way to Coldstream. There we stayed at an 'experience' Air BNB called 'Horsewind Farm' where we got to enjoy the company of the farms animals, pick vegetables from the gardens and sleep in a cozy tipi.

Before leaving the interior, we stopped at Kalamalka Lake, just outside of Vernon, where we spent the day swimming in the Gatorade blue water. Adrenaline junkies like myself also like Kalamalka because of all of the great cliff jumping spots. Rattlesnake Point is typically the most popular spot to jump from, but keep in mind; it’s definitely not for the faint-hearted. Nonetheless, even if you’re not into jumping, the gorgeous view at Rattlesnake Point makes the 6 km hike to get there more than worth it.

While we weren't totally 'off the grid', it certainty seemed that way at certain points throughout our relaxing week away!
