How to Celebrate Oktoberfest This Year!


With all the beer lovers in our city, Oktoberfest has become a Vancouver tradition. Although we can’t welcome the fall with the same German inspired gusto; There are still places to celebrate Oktoberfest. Here are some suggestions:

Deutsches Haus Restaurant, Vancouver Alpen Club

Celebrate “The Best of Bavaria” at Brewhall until October 12th. With traditional ‘Oktoberfeasts’, costume contests, and plenty of craft beer!

This hidden gem is tucked away in Chinatown, and offers up traditional German bratwurst and beer! They offer takeaway options through their beloved takeout window so you have the option of ‘Oktoberfest at home’ as well!

Offering German, Austrian, Swiss, and South Tyrol cuisine, this Lonsdale restaurant is a great place for an Oktoberfest celebration!

The local craft favourite, Stanley Park Brewing, has come out with a ‘Festbier’ brewed with a blend of German malts, perfect for the season!

Parallel 49 releases their fall “Schadenfreude” beer just in time for Oktoberfest, find this and the ‘Lost Souls’ Chocolate Pumpkin Porter available this fall.

Portland Craft

Portland Craft will be tapping a new feature keg everyday for Oktoberfest! They also offer German inspired beers like the Deschutes Black Butie Porter. Yum!
