"Jeopardy!" Contestant To Appear On The Ellen Degeneres Show
Alex Trebek and Jeopardy! go hand in hand. Trebek has been a staple of the show since 1984. He is a constant professional who almost never breaks stride while hosting the show. However, contestant Dhruv Gaur, was able to catch the host off-guard earlier this week with a message that resonated with Trebek, and his countless fans as well.
If you haven’t yet seen the video of the “Jeopardy!” contestant using his “Final Jeopardy!” answer to write a heartfelt message to host Alex Trebek, be prepared to be hit right in the feels…
Trebek has been battling Stage IV pancreatic cancer, as he announced earlier this year. Although chemotherapy seemed to be working to combat the disease, he recently faced a setback and has re-entered treatment. Fans are wishing the Canadian icon a speedy recovery as he continues his fight against cancer.
Jeopardy! contestant, Dhruv Gaur, had previously won the Tournament of Champions college edition, taking home a $100,000 prize. The Brown University student returned for the Tournament of Champions show and when he did not have the Final Jeopardy answer, he decided to write a message to Trebek instead. This amazing moment on the show has become the viral video of the week.
Ellen Degeneres has taken notice of Dhruv’s kind gesture and has invited him to appear on her show on Thursday! Tune into CTV Vancouver at 3pm PST.
The good feels won’t stop there as Jeopardy! contestants are organizing a game for fans to play at home, in support of finding a cure for pancreatic cancer. Former contestant Steven Grade’s tweeted the details:
