  • Habitat for Humanity - Community, Family, Home & You

You are the key – 200 donors in 100 days can bring 11 families home. The Greater Victoria community (friends, neighbours, social and business networks) is invited to come together to help give eleven local families a hand-up into stable, affordable homeownership. Habitat for Humanity's goal is to collectively raise $200,000 between June 23rd – September 30th to directly fund Habitat Victoria’s active build projects. Construction has now started on the ten homes in North Saanich and one home in Central Saanich. One hundred percent of the funds raised will go directly to building these homes! Recent events have highlighted just how important a safe and stable home can be. The uncertainty we have all experienced this year is the ongoing reality for many families struggling with housing instability. Habitat for Humanity's partner families work hard to provide for their children, but struggle to provide safe, stable housing for them. They are drivers, caregivers, lab technicians, construction workers, educators and more. Many provide the essential services we all rely on in our local community. With your donation, you are giving them a hand-up into an affordable home to call their own, and helping them achieve a stable future that will benefit their children and strengthen our local community for years to come.
  • Run For Women

The 8th annual Run for Women, brought to you by the LOVE YOU by Shoppers Drug Mart™ program, is putting women’s health first and will be held as a virtual event, in partnership with 18 local charities across Canada. Each charity delivers women’s mental health programming to its community. Every dollar raised by Run for Women supports mothers, daughters, and friends in your community in taking the next step to recovery. Since 2013, over 100,000 participants have helped raise more than $8.5 million for women’s mental health programs across Canada. As a virtual event, runners and walkers across Canada can choose their own route. Participants are encouraged to do a 5K or 10K run or walk between September 17 and 27 and submit their race time via the Run for Women app. The Run will culminate in a live streamed Run for Women Day event on Sunday, September 27, and all participants are invited to join the celebration.
