Koats For Kids
For some children, having a warm coat means attending school on a cold day instead of staying home.
Items that can be donated: new or gently used winter jackets, ski pants, hats, scarves, mittens, and boots.
Parents and caregivers place their Koats for Kids order with their child’s school, daycare or agency, and once their order is ready, they will be notified to pick it up at the same location. For a complete list of United Way Winnipeg agency partners, visit unitedwaywinnipeg.ca
Koats for Kids is part of United Way Winnipeg’s commitment to helping kids be all they can be. Our young people need warm winter apparel, so they can attend school and participate in outdoor winter activities.
2020 has been such a challenging year for our community. There have been job losses by the thousands, and more Winnipeggers are finding themselves on the edge of poverty for the first time. We’ve also been hearing that many schools are taking their physical education classes outdoors, so it will be crucial for kids to have proper winter gear in order to fully participate in school.
