The Beaver Book

Ace Burpee has turned his super fun Beaver Song into The Beaver Book! A book, beautifully illustrated by our friend Nicholas Friesen read for anyone in your life who loves beavers!
THE BEAVER BOOK will be available for sale in support of Wildlife Haven – we are on a mission to help them build an enclosure for three beavers that are currently in their care. CHECK OUT Ace reading his book with some of the beavers that we are raising funds for!
The first beaver arrived in the spring of 2019 from Bunn Creek as a baby, having been found orphaned. An attempt at fostering the beaver with another beaver family did not work out, but luckily another orphaned beaver came under their care shortly thereafter! This one was found stuck in the mud near a deceased sibling in Swan River. Eventually, these two became companions as they were similarly aged and could be housed together. They both were very small, weighing under 1kg when they arrived and they continue to grow and be housed together here on site! They spent this last winter at Wildlife Haven and the hope is they can be released next year.
This spring, another beaver came to them from Portage la Prairie. It was found wandering alone on the side of the road and luckily had no serious injuries.
