50 Cent has revealed that he was asked to perform at presidential candidate Donald Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City this past Sunday (October 27).
Appearing on The Breakfast Club Tuesday morning (October 29), the rapper (real name Curtis Jackson) was asked by host DJ Envy if he had been offered money to endorse Trump.
“They offered me $3 million,” 50 Cent answered, explaining that he was offered that sum for both Sunday's MSG rally and the Republican National Convention back in July.
50 Cent said the offer was an easy one to turn down, explaining, “I didn’t even go far… I didn’t talk to them about that kinda stuff. I’m afraid about politics. I do not like it – no part of politics.”
Unlike his friend and fellow rapper Eminem, who endorsed Kamala Harris in his hometown of Detroit last week, 50 Cent explained that politics is not his thing.
“It’s because when you do get involved in it, no matter how you feel, someone passionately disagrees with you," he added.
While the 49-year-old hasn't endorsed a candidate, the former President has adopted his song "Many Men (Wish Death)," a song about getting shot, as an anthem following the assassination attempt on Trump's life back in July.
When he learned of Trump's near-death experience, 50 Cent shared a mock-up of Trump's face superimposed onto the cover of his 2003 album, Get Rich or Die Tryin.
Variety reports that officials from the Trump campaign have since refuted 50 Cent's claim that he was offered $3 million.
