Adele is rolling in the deep with accolades, and today she added another to her collection. Her sophomore album 21 has spent 319 weeks on the Billboard 200 – more weeks than any other female artist.
It beat Carole King’s Tapestry, which held the top spot with 318 weeks on the charts, making Adele the reigning queen of extended chart success. It was recently revealed that the “Hello” singer gifted a copy of 21 to Harry Styles – maybe he can learn a thing or two?

“I was like, geez,” Styles told Radio 1 about the surprise gift. “I think she leads by example. She’s the biggest, she’s amazing. She’s the best, so she should be the biggest. The thing with her is she’s a different thing. She’s just good at it. I like how she does everything, it looks very nice.”
With this new notch to her belt, Adele joins the ranks of some serious legends who have spent a considerable amount of time on the charts. In terms of overall chart weeks, Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon holds the record for the most weeks on the chart with 927.
However, she still has a long way to go to clock the most weeks of all time for any one record. Following Dark Side of the Moon for most weeks on the Billboard 200 are Johnny Mathis' Johnny’s Greatest Hits (490), the My Fair Lady original cast recording (480), and Bob Marley & The Wailers’ Legend (463).
