Adele fans are going to have to wait a bit longer than expected for the singer’s new album.
“It isn’t coming in September,” Adele’s manager Jonathan Dickins told Music Week. “It’ll be ready when it’s ready.”
Back in February, Adele reportedly told guests at her friend’s wedding party that her fourth studio album – and first since 2015’s 25 – would be out in September.
Dickins said this week the COVID-19 pandemic has pushed everything back.
“We’re all in the same boat, you’re doing stuff and then all of a sudden, the world stops,” he explained.
Adele was working on the new album with Ryan Tedder, who co-wrote “Rumour Has It” and “Turning Tables” on 2011’s 21 and “Remedy” on 25.
Fans need to be patient. “It’ll come when it’s ready,” Dickins said. “I can’t put a date on that yet. We have music, but we’re still working.”
