Canadian singer Alanis Morissette announced Thursday she is releasing a special digital edition of her breakthrough album Jagged Little Pill to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
“It includes a live acoustic performance from Shepherds Bush in London this past March,” Morissette explained in a tweet. “Such a memorable show, and I can’t wait to share it.”
The special edition is scheduled to drop on June 26 but Morissette has shared the live version of “Ironic.”
Five music videos from Jagged Little Pill have been remastered in 4K and will be uploaded in the days to come: “Ironic” (June 26), “You Oughta Know” (June 29), “Hand In My Pocket” (June 30), “You Learn” (July 1) and “Head Over Feet” (July 2). Morissette will also stream a 1997 concert film on YouTube on June 28 at 12:30 EST.
“There are more Jagged Little Pill celebrations coming soon,” she teased. “Stay tuned.”
Morissette will also be featured on the official Canada Day broadcast and stream on July 1 at 8 pm.
Last December, Morissette announced details of a tour to celebrate the album’s 25th birthday, including stops in Toronto and her hometown Ottawa. Those shows have been bumped to July 10 and 11, 2021 respectively due to COVID-19.
A Broadway musical inspired by the album opened in December but performances have been suspended since March due to the pandemic.
Jagged Little Pill, Morissette’s third album, was released on June 13, 1995 and spawned hit singles like “You Oughta Know,” “Hand in my Pocket” and “Ironic.” It became one of the top-selling albums ever by a female artist.
Morissette’s new album Such Pretty Forks In The Road is set to be released on July 31.
