Could the artist formerly known as Jimmy Brooks portray former U.S. president Barack Obama in a movie about his life? Obama thinks so.
“I will say this, Drake seems to be able to do anything he wants,” he said on 360 With Speedy Morman. “I mean, that is a talented brother. If the time comes, and he’s ready…”
In a 2010 interview with Paper, Drake said: “I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama’s life soon because I could play him."
Obama said the Canadian rap star, who starred on the homegrown series Degrassi: The Next Generation from 2001 to 2009, has “my household’s stamp of approval.” Obama said he believes daughters “Malia and Sasha would be just fine” with Drake playing their father.
Drake appeared on many of Obama’s playlists. In 2016, the president said he was working out to “Off That” by Jay-Z with Drake; in 2019 he singled out Drake’s “Too Good” ft. Rihanna; and this year he listed “Work” by Rihanna ft. Drake.
