Five Canadian artists appear in seven spots on the Top 40 of this week’s Billboard Hot 100, which tracks U.S. sales, streaming and radio airplay – including two in the Top 5.
Drake’s “Laugh Now Cry Later” ft. Lil Durk, from his forthcoming album Certified Lover Boy, rose from No. 4 to No. 3, just one spot below its peak. The track has been on the Hot 100 for 12 weeks.
The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights,” released nearly a year ago, refuses to be knocked down after an extraordinary 49 weeks on the chart. The song, which spent four weeks at No. 1, went up one spot to No. 4 – keeping it in the Top 10 for a 38th week. If it remains there for another week, “Blinding Lights” will tie a record set by Post Malone’s “Circles.”
The Weeknd is also featured on Ariana Grande’s “Off The Table,” which debuts at No. 35.
Justin Bieber’s “Holy” ft. Chance The Rapper is at No. 10, down one spot from last week. After debuting at No. 3, the song fell to No. 12 in its second week. Bieber's collaboration with Benny Blanco, “Lonely” rose from No. 27 to No. 21. The song has failed to crack the Top 10 since it was released last month.
“WHATS POPPIN,” the Jack Harlow song featuring Canada’s Tory Lanez as well as DaBaby and Lil Wayne, fell four spots to No. 24.
The title track of Shawn Mendes’ forthcoming album Wonder continues to fall down the Hot 100, dipping one spot to No. 33 after five weeks on the chart. “Wonder” had a disappointing No. 18 debut.
