One of the biggest annual celebrations of music happens Sunday night as the Grammy Awards take over Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Justin Bieber is reportedly skipping the show even though he’s up for three awards, thanks to his contributions to the remix of “Despactio” by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee. The hit song is up for Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Pop/Duo Group Performance.
Bieber’s fellow Ontario native Alessia Cara will be there – she is among the artists scheduled to perform during the live broadcast.
Cara is nominated for Best New Artist (even though her debut album came out in 2015) and she shares nominations for Song of the Year and Best Music Video for her Logic and Khalid collaboration “1-800-273-8255.”
Cara is also nominated in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category for “Stay” with Zedd.
