Illness has forced Céline Dion to postpone a pair of tour dates this week – but the Canadian singer does not have COVID-19.
“On Monday night, a day after completing a six-show run in the New York area, Céline began feeling the symptoms of a common cold,” reads a post on her official Facebook page. “The symptoms persisted into Tuesday, and her doctors instructed her to rest for the next 5-7 days.
“After testing her, the doctors concluded that her virus was not related to COVID-19.”
Concerts in Washington, D.C. and Pittsburgh have been rescheduled for Nov. 16 and 18 respectively. In a statement, Dion apologized for disappointing her fans. “I hope everyone understands,” she said.
The 51-year-old superstar is scheduled to resume her Courage World Tour in Denver on March 24. She is set to perform in Vancouver on April 17 and 18, in Edmonton on April 21 and 22, in Saskatoon on April 25 and in Winnipeg on April 27.
Dion postponed four shows in her native Montreal last September due to a throat virus.
