Canadian singer-songwriter Chantal Kreviazuk said Thursday the COVID-19 pandemic has done nothing to stifle her need to create.
“To be honest with you, it showed me more than ever that my creative process is me, you know, because I wasn’t really able to stop creating, because there was a pandemic,” she told Rosey Edeh on Ottawa’s CTV Morning Live.
“It sort of overwhelmed me that I am a creator, that’s what I do. I felt more connected to the things that I value – the musical time with my audience, writing music, performing. That’s how I live, that’s how I breathe.
“So the fact that there’s been a pandemic, it hasn’t really stopped me, it’s actually driven me even more.”
Kreviazuk released her album Get To You in June and has frequently performed for fans on Instagram Live. She also did a series of limited-capacity shows in B.C., Saskatchewan and Ontario in September and October.
Kreviazuk has also been busy promoting the UPLIFT collection of products at Lemongrass House, which benefit a cause that has been near and dear to her heart for two decades.
“You can find some lovely, fantastic products [and] all of the profits will go to War Child Canada,” said Kreviazuk. “They’re beautiful and I helped create them and I hope everybody really enjoys them and knows that they’re for a great cause.”
The collection, ranging from $12 soap to $30 essential oil, is currently sold out.
