Dan + Shay lead the way going into the 2020 Academy of Country Music Awards.
Dan Smyers earned six nominations and Shay Mooney got five – and the duo shares four nominations with Canada’s Justin Bieber for their collaboration “10,000 Hours.”
It is the first ACM Awards nominations for Bieber, who won a CMT Award in 2011 for “That Should Be Me” with Rascal Flatts.
Canada is also represented by Calgary's Lindsay Ell, who is up for New Female Artist of the Year and shares a nomination for her collaboration with Brantley Gilbert, "What Happens In A Small Town." Whitehorse native Joey Moi is vying for Producer of the Year and Boots & Hearts, the annual country music festival in Oro-Medonte, Ont., is nominated for Festival of the Year.
Also on the list of nominees are Maren Morris (with five noms), Carrie Underwood (the only female up for Entertainer of the Year) and Thomas Rhett (with his first Entertainer of the Year nod).
The ACM Awards, hosted by Keith Urban, will be handed out on April 5 in Las Vegas.
