Country star Dean Brody will be performing Jan. 1 at the NHL Centennial Classic in Toronto along with Bryan Adams, Billy Gilman, and Cold Creek County.
Brody is set to perform the Canadian national anthem before a flypast of a RCAF squadron while Gilman -- runner-up on this season of The Voice -- will handle the U.S. anthem.
Adams will warm up hockey fans during the first intermission and Cold Creek County will cover Stompin' Tom Connor's "The Hockey Song" in the second break.
The Original Six rivalry between the hometown Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings starts at 3 pm EST at BMO Field (which has been temporarily dubbed Exhibition Stadium due to Scotiabank's sponsorship of the game).
The celebration will include a ceremony where 33 members of the 100 Greatest NHL Players will be announced. The remaining 66 members on the list will be presented in a special event during the 2017 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles.
