Diplo has jumped on the unlikely hit “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X feat. Billy Ray Cyrus.
The trio debuted the new version of the country hip-hop track at last weekend’s Stagecoach country music festival in California.
“yee (and I cant stress this enough) haw,” Diplo tweeted.

It’s been quite the journey for “Old Town Road,” which was released in December, became a hit but earned new respect in March when Billboard pulled it from the country chart because “it does not embrace enough elements of today’s country music.”
Enter Cyrus, who added some country cred by adding his vocals.
The new version of the song shattered streaming records and topped the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart as well as the Hot R&B / Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts.
Lil Nas X (aka Montero Lamar Hill) released “Old Town Road” last December, inspired by the Wild West video game Red Dead Redemption 2.
