Taylor Swift is being accused of ripping off Emeli Sandé on her new smash hit “ME!”
In a tweet he later deleted, singer Charlie Puth said Swift’s song featuring Brendon Urie “reminds” him of Sandé’s 2012 track “Next To Me.”
Others have echoed that opinion on social media.
"Am I the only one who heard ‘Next to Me’ from Emeli Sande all throughout the ME! chorus,” Kattey Ortiz tweeted.
Other tweets included: “ok but the chorus of taylor swift’s ME! is a near exact ripoff of emeli sande’s Next To Me” and “Wow that new taylor swift song pretty blatantly rips off next to me by emeli sandé doesn’t it.”
Someone opined: “Some of you Stan Taylor Swift so hard you’re pretending that her new song isn’t a ripoff of the Emeli Sandé next to me song”
Adding to the buzz, there is video showing Swift and Sandé performing “Next To Me” together at one of Swift’s concerts in 2014.
So far there’s been no public reaction from Swift or Sandé.

This isn't the first time Swift has been accused of copying elements of other songs. In 2017, German rapper Casper claimed "Look What You Made Me Do" sounded like his “Lang lebe der Tod." But, his track was released only days before Swift's song.
In 2015, the pop star was sued by R&B singer Jesse Graham who alleged that Swift stole lyrics for "Shake It Off" from his 2013 song "Haters Gonna Hate." The case was thrown out last year.
