Drake is giving the world its first look at Adonis, the rap star’s two-year-old son with Sophie Brussaux.
Early Monday, Drake took to Instagram to share a set of images of the curly-haired cutie. He captioned the family photos with a thoughtful message inspired by the self-isolation sparked by the COVID-19 crisis.
“I love and miss my beautiful family and friends and I can’t wait for the joyful day when we are all able to reunite,” the rapper wrote. “Until then please keep your lights on.”
Adonis was born in October 2017 but has been kept out of the public eye until now.
Drake acknowledged he had a son in June 2018 after rival rapper Pusha T revealed his existence on the track "The Story of Adidon."
On the Scorpion track "March 14," Drake shared: "Yesterday mornin’ was crazy / I had to come to terms with the fact that it’s not a maybe / That s**t is in stone / Sealed and signed / She’s not my lover like Billie Jean / But the kid is mine."
On "Emotionless," he explained: "I wasn't hidin' my kid from the world / I was hidin' the world from my kid.”
In 2018, Drake said his “beautiful” son has “crazy blue eyes” and opened up about being a single dad.
“I do want to be able to explain to my son what happened. But I don’t have any desire for him to like, not love his mother, or I don’t ever want the world to be angry at his mother,” he said on LeBron James’ The Shop. “We have found ourselves in a situation, and we are both equally responsible.”
The rapper said he has unconditional love for Brussaux because he wants Adonis “to love his mother and I have to project that energy.”
Earlier this month, Drake referred to his tryst with Brussaux as a “fluke” in the song “When To Say When.”
