Elton John is being honoured in his native UK with a coin.
The 73-year-old is only the second music act – after Queen – to appear on a coin from the Royal Mint.
“It really is a fabulous honour to be recognized in this way,” John said, in a release. “The last few years have contained some of the most memorable moments of my career, and this is another truly humbling milestone on my journey.”
The coin, part of the Royal Mint’s Music Legends series, was designed by artist Bradley Morgan Johnson.
The commemorative coins are now available online, ranging from $22 to $984. Several limited editions in silver and gold are already sold out but fans can still get one of four 1 kg gold coins for $116,000.
Last month, Britain's Royal Mail announced a collection of stamps honouring Queen.
