Eminem has announced a brand new album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace), due out this summer.
The Detroit rapper broke the news last night (April 25) during the NFL Draft, which took place in his hometown.
A trailer for the album depicts a crime reporter investigating the death of his alter ego, Slim Shady, featuring clips from his past videos and a cameo by 50 Cent.
“Through his complex and oft-criticized, tongue-twisting rhymes, the anti-hero known as Slim Shady has had no shortage of enemies,” the reporter says. “The same rude lyrics and controversial antics may have ultimately led to his demise. Join me as we recreate the events that led to the murder of Slim Shady.”
“He’s not a friend, he’s a psychopath," adds 50 Cent.
Eminem also appears in the clip as an anonymous source, saying, “I knew it was only a matter of time for Slim.”
Last month Dr. Dre teased a new Slim Shady album when he received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
