The original members of Foreigner – with the exception of bassist Ed Gagliardi, who died in 2014 – are reuniting for a concert this summer.
The classic rock band will perform their “first-ever ticketed reunion concert featuring all the original members” on Aug. 4 at Sturgis Buffalo Chip in South Dakota.
Mick Jones and Kelly Hansen will be joined on stage by Lou Gramm, Dennis Elliott, Al Greenwood, Ian McDonald and Rick Wills.
"It’s been incredible to have Lou, Dennis, Al, Ian and Rick join us for some surprise appearances throughout the past few years,” Jones said, in a release. “It always brings back special memories.”
Foreigner’s songs include “I Want to Know What Love Is,” “Feels Like The First Time,” and “Waiting For a Girl Like You.”
The reunion comes only days before the Foreigner musical Jukebox Hero opens in Calgary. It will then have a run in Edmonton before hitting Toronto next January.
The musical uses about a dozen Foreigner songs to tell the story of a struggling small town in America’s rust belt that attracts new industry thanks to a rock band.
