Gorillaz announced Monday that Quebec won’t be the only Canadian city they visit this summer.
The “virtual” group, fronted by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, will perform July 10 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
It’s part of a 17-date tour in support of their April 28 release, Humanz.
Gorillaz was previously announced as part of the line-up for the Quebec City Summer Festival on July 15. At the time, it was billed as their first concert in North America in seven years — a distinction that now belongs to Chicago (July 8).
Albarn performed some Gorillaz tracks during a 2014 set at Bonnaroo in Tennessee but there hasn’t been a full Gorillaz show since the Escape to Plastic Beach tour in 2010.
Albarn, Hewlett and animated characters Murdoc, Noodle, Russel and 2D will be joined on the Humanz Tour by special guests like Grace Jones, Mavis Staples and De La Soul.
Tickets for the tour go on sale April 21.
