Halsey has shared some details with her fans about what they can expect from her forthcoming album.
The 29-year-old singer offered up a Q&A to her fans on X (aka Twitter), where she gave some descriptions of what the album will sound like, ranging from "all over the place" and "full of experimentation" to it not being "full pop" in its direction.
When asked if her current era will be like 2020's Manic and have mixed genres, Halsey replied, "[It will be] all over the place. when I started writing it, I thought it might be the last album I ever got the chance to make. so I tried to do whatever I’d been wanting to do, but hadn’t tried yet."
Halsey confirmed the producers she worked with on the yet-to-be-titled follow-up to 2021's If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power, revealing could show us yet another side to her creativity.
"I worked the most with Michael Uzi and Alex G both who I adore," she wrote. "They had already worked together on Frank, so we all folded into an awesome rhythm that was full of experimentation. and then Greg kurstin who I alwayssss work with and would die for."
As for the inspiration for the album, Halsey admitted, "I wrote a lot about what I was going through. I felt like I couldn’t tell anyone, though it was mostly my choice to not. but the weight of it all and looking at my life wondering if I was happy with who I was. While simultaneously changing against my will. more on that later lol."
Halsey recently revealed a diagnosis of Lupus SLE through some social posts. When she released recent single "The End," she teased that the album would be about her health problems.
In addition to all of that, another fan brought up the tenth anniversary of her debut album, Badlands, will happen next year. In response, Halsey possibly hinted that some type of celebration could happen, writing, "yessssss :) it’s gonna be a rager."
Halsey is set to release her next single "Lucky," which she says features a sample from Britney Spears' hit of the same name.
