Jennifer Lopez will headline this year’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, it was announced Tuesday.
The 51-year-old superstar will leave her home in sunny Coral Gables, Florida to perform live in New York City’s Times Square just before the famous midnight ball drop.
“Cannot wait!!!,” JLo tweeted. “See you on New Year’s Eve!!!”
Lopez kicked off 2020 with a memorable performance with Shakira at the Super Bowl halftime show.
Last year's Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest featured BTS and Post Malone in Times Square. In 2017, Mariah Carey went viral after fumbling her way through “Auld Lang Syne,” “Emotions” and “We Belong Together.”
Also performing in the final moments of 2020 will be Billy Porter with Cyndi Lauper and country singer Jimmie Allen.
Producers will soon announce the artists performing in the pre-taped segments from Los Angeles, hosted by Ciara.
“2020 has been a trying year for the world,” said Seacrest, who is returning as host for the 16th time, in a release. “We look forward to making sure it's a night for everyone to remember.”
Due to COVID-19, this year’s Times Square show will not be open to the public.
