Lil Wayne was aboard a private jet on which U.S. federal agents reportedly found weapons and drugs, the Miami Herald reported Monday.
The plane was searched after it landed at the Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport on arrival from California after Miami-Dade Police, acting on a tip, alerted the FBI and ATF.
According to reports, investigators found cocaine, opioids and guns.
Howard Srebnick, a lawyer representing Lil Wayne, told TMZ the rapper does not own the jet and was “cleared” to leave the airport. Weezy, whose real name is Dwayne Carter Jr., later tweeted: “All goody.”
In May, Lil Wayne told fans he pulled out of a scheduled headline performance at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami Gardens because police wanted to search him before he entered the stadium grounds.
“I do not and will not ever settle for being policed to do my job and give you guys a great show,” he tweeted. At the same festival, federal agents arrested Kodak Black on weapons charges.
Only weeks ago, federal agents in Chicago searched a private plane carrying rapper Juice WRLD and found dozens of bags of marijuana, six bottles of prescription cough syrup, three guns, metal-piercing bullets and a high-capacity ammunition magazine.
Juice WRLD died of a suspected overdose after possibly ingesting pills in hopes of concealing them from investigators.
