Kelly Clarkson quickly and expertly shut down a troll who went at her for filling in for injured Simon Cowell on this week’s America’s Got Talent episodes.
On Thursday morning @AnnieB64135937, a Twitter user with 13 followers, opined “now Kelly is taking Simon’s place…no wonder her marriage didn’t work…surprise she has time for her kids…not the good old country girl we fell in love with…it’s all about Kelly being on tv…and no one else…no tears for her…but for her kids.”
Clarkson, though, was having none of it. “Wow. Shaming a woman who has a great work ethic, is a great mom, and who steps up and fills in when a friends asks for a favour because that’s actually what 'good old country girls’ do,” she replied.
“This can’t be who you are deep down. I have more faith in your heart. Aim higher please.”
Other users reacted with comments like “jealousy is never a nice piece of clothing to wear” and “so much hate in your heart. That must be a heavy burden to carry.”
It was all enough for @AnnieB64135937 to delete the tweet.
Clarkson, who in June filed for divorce from her husband Brandon Blackstock after nearly seven years of marriage, has daughter River, 6, and son Remington, 4. In addition to her music projects, she has an eponymous daytime talk show.
