Kygo has premiered his remix of Tina Turner’s smash hit “What’s Love Got To Do With It?”
The 28-year-old Norwegian DJ, singer and producer keeps it mostly true to the original, which was released 36 years ago from Turner’s comeback album Private Dancer.
Kygo teased the release earlier in the week by sharing a pic of himself Photoshopped next to a throwback photo of Turner that he captioned: “It feels surreal to get the opportunity to work with such a legendary artist!”
Of course, he didn't really work with 80-year-old Turner, who is retired and living in Switzerland.
The remix comes with a video directed by Sarah Bahbah that features a cast of six instead of Kygo or Turner.
Kygo, whose real name is Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll, has had hits with acts like Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding and OneRepublic. Last year, his remix of “Higher Love” gave Whitney Houston her first posthumous hit on the Billboard Hot 100.
Turner's final tour was in 2009 and her last studio album was 1999’s Twenty Four Seven. She emerged from retirement last November to attend the opening night of Tina - The Tina Turner Musical on Broadway.
