Lady Gaga’s duet with her A Star Is Born co-star Bradley Cooper continued its journey towards Oscars glory with a win Sunday at the Critics’ Choice Awards.
“Shallow,” which Gaga co-wrote with Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt and Anthony Rossomando, was honoured a week after earning a Golden Globe for Best Original Song.
The Critics’ Choice Award was presented to Gaga and Rossomando by Ricky Martin and Mandy Moore.
“Shallow” beat “All the Stars” from Black Panther, “Girl in the Movies” from Dumplin’, “I’ll Fight” from RBG, and “The Place Where Lost Things Go” and “Trip a Little Light Fantastic” from Mary Poppins Returns.
The song is also up for four Grammy Awards – including Record of the Year and Song of the Year – on Feb. 10. It is also sure to be among the Academy Awards nominees when they are announced Jan. 22.
Gaga also won a Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actress – in a tie with Glenn Close – for playing Ally in A Star in Born.
The pop star raced home to be at the side of her dying horse Arabella. “Our souls and spirits were one,” Gaga shared on social media. “I will never forget the moments we shared.”
