With the dust only now started to settle from the explosive premiere of “Dynamite” last Friday, BTS has released two new versions of the track.
The acoustic version strips the song down a bit to showcase Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook singing their first all-English single. The EDM remix blasts a club vibe into the disco-tinged hit.
“Dynamite” racked up 101.1 million views following its Aug. 21 debut, shattering a record held by BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That,” which had 86.3 million views in its first 24 hours in June.
It becomes the first music video to top 100 million views in one day.
In a virtual press conference last week, RM – the only member of BTS who is fluent in English – described the song, penned by David Stewart and Jessica Agombar, as a “new challenge for us.” V said English “fit the melody a little bit better.”
Suga said “Dynamite” is dedicated “to all the people who feel like they’ve fallen down while running a marathon. Even if you’re going through tough times, let’s do what we can in our places, and find freedom and happiness through dance and music.”
He said BTS hopes people “get a little bit of reassurance and healing from it.”
BTS will perform "Dynamite" on the MTV VMAs on Aug. 30.
