Katy Perry’s much-anticipated first single off of her new album, “Chained To The Rhythm”, was released midnight Feb. 9.
Perry has gone in a retro direction with the song’s production, which comes courtesy of chart-dominating Swedish producer Max Martin and Ali Payami.
“Chained” also features hip hop artist Skip Marley, who is the grandson of legendary reggae artist Bob Marley.
On Wednesday, Perry sent fans on a scavenger hunt for disco balls across North America that would play the single when headphones were plugged in.

Her guerilla marketing tactic didn’t draw too many excited fans, as Vanity Fair reported that few turned up to McCarren Park in Brooklyn, where one of the balls was placed.
Still, this hardly spells trouble for the 32-year-old singer, who has racked up an impressive 13 top 10 singles on the Billboard charts throughout her career. Perry is tipped to perform “Chained To The Rhythm” at this Sunday’s Grammy Awards.
