Madonna is back with a track that is muy caliente.
The 60-year-old pop icon on Wednesday debuted the sizzling “Medellín,” a new song featuring 25-year-old Colombian singer Maluma.
"Sipping my pain just like champagne / Found myself dancing in the rain with you," Madonna sings. "I felt so naked and alive / For once I didn’t have to hide myself."
Sharing a name with Maluma’s birthplace, the song is the first taste of Madonna’s forthcoming album Madame X, which she has been teasing on social media all month. It's out June 14.
A video for “Medellín," which was co-written by Madonna and Maluma with Mirwais Ahmadzaï and Édgar Barrera, will debut on April 24.
Maluma is also featured on the Madame X track, “Bitch I’m Loca.”
Last summer, Madonna told Vogue Italia that she was creatively inspired by living in Lisbon, Portugal.
"I’ve just met lots of really amazing musicians, and I’ve ended up working with a lot of these musicians on my new record, so Lisbon has influenced my music and my work,” Madonna said. “How could it not?
“I don’t see how I could have gone through that year without being informed by all this input of culture.”
The Madame X track list includes titles like the Spanish “Batuka” (on which her son David Banda has a songwriting credit) and Portuguese “Faz Gostoso” (which features Brazilian singer Anitta).
The album also has collaborations with Quavo (“Future”) and Swae Lee (“Crave”). Other tracks include “God Control,” “Killers Who Are Partying,” “Extreme Occident” and “I Rise.”
On April 1, Madonna used nine posts on her Instagram to display a red letter “X” on a black background, without a caption or explanation. Two weeks later, the pop star posted a video in which she declared: “I decided to call my record Madame X.”
Madonna explained the album title is also the name of a character she has embodied.
"Madame X is a secret agent. Traveling around the world. Changing identities. Fighting for freedom. Bringing light to dark places,” she said. “Madame X is a dancer. A professor. A head of state. A housekeeper. An equestrian. A prisoner. A student. A mother. A child. A teacher. A nun. A singer. A saint. A whore. And a spy in the house of love. I’m Madame X.”
Then, on April 15, Madonna shared news about “Medellín.”

Madame X – Madonna’s 14th studio album and her first since 2015’s Rebel Heart – reunites the pop star with French producer Mirwais, who she collaborated with on 2000’s Music, 2003’s American Life and 2005’s Confessions On A Dance Floor.
A deluxe edition of Madame X will also be available on June 14.
Whether or not Madonna can make a comeback remains to be seen. The pop music icon is vying pots on charts dominated by hip-hop acts and much younger artists. To wit, the No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 for the past two weeks is “Old Town Road” by 20-year-old Lil Nas X and the top two albums on the Billboard 200 chart belong to 21-year-old Khalid and 17-year-old Billie Eilish respectively.
Madonna’s most recent single, “Bitch I’m Madonna” ft. Nicki Minaj peaked at No. 84 on the Billboard Hot 100 but its video – with cameos by Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Diplo and others – is closing in on 300 million views.
Madonna has released 13 studio albums in the last 36 years and is recognized as one of the top-selling female recording artists of all time as well as the top-grossing solo touring artist ever. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008, has collected seven Grammy Awards as well as three American Music Awards, two Brit Awards, and a pair of Junos.
