Michael Bublé, who announced on Wednesday the postponement of more shows, says the COVID-19 outbreak has reminded him how lucky he is.
“For me, it’s about keeping perspective,” Bublé said during an Instagram Live with fellow Canadian singer Scott Helman.
Bublé said he and wife Luisana Lopilato “realize how lucky we are to have each other, to have our health, to be in a warm house, just to be together.” He commended the Canadian government for steps it is taking to assist people in need.
On March 12, the singer announced he was postponing 15 concerts in the U.S. between March 17 and April 5 due to COVID-19. He has now postponed 10 shows scheduled between May 2 and 19. (It is expected his concerts on May 22 in Halifax and May 23 in Moncton will also be bumped.)
Bublé told Helman he has used self-isolation time to “discover more music” and watch the docu-series Tiger King (“It was so crazy!”). The spokesman for bubly sparkling water also revealed his favourite flavour is... blackberry.
The singer said Canadians need to make the best of the situation. “You learn who you are when the s**t hits the fan,” said Bublé. “You find out who we are. A lot of us are finding out a lot about ourselves that we didn’t know.”
He urged people to stay positive. “One day at a time. The truth is this is going to be a couple of months,” he said.
“This is what it is but we’re going to be OK.”
