A celebration of the late Rush songwriter and drummer Neil Peart has been postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
A Night for Neil, scheduled to take place on May 16 at the Meridian Centre in his hometown St Catharines, is bumped to Oct. 17.
Ticketmaster said "original tickets will be honoured for the new date" but refunds are also available at the points of purchase. There are currently about 300 tickets still available for the event.
The event will feature “an array of performers and speakers” who will pay tribute to Peart, with proceeds going to several local chairites. Peart’s bandmates Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have not said if they will attend.
"Our family is very much looking forward to celebrating Neil's legacy with all of his fans,” Peart's sister Nancy said, in a statement.
Peart died in January at 67 after battling brain cancer.
