Neil Young says he won’t be embarking on a farewell tour anytime soon.
“I could never do a retirement tour. I'd feel like Cher,” the 73-year-old told AARP. “Don’t retire unless you really aren't interested. I'm interested.
"It hurts a little to play now where it didn't before. I don't hear quite as well as I did before. My voice is not like it was before. Show me something that is like it was before. I feel good about the future. The idea is, do not stop moving.”
Young said he was recently turned down an offer of “millions of dollars” to do a tour in which he would perform his 1972 album Harvest. “Everyone who played on Harvest is dead,” he said. “I don’t want to do that.” (Jack Nitzsche died in 2000, Kenny Buttrey died in 2004, Ben Keith died in 2010 and Tim Drummond died in 2015.)
Young said he’s open to a Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young reunion – but isn’t holding his breath. “If a reunion happens, it would be a surprise,” he said. “I won't close the door on anything.” At issue is David Crosby. “I don’t know what happened with David. I got nothing to say. I love Stephen. I love Graham.”

In the interview, Young also spoke about losing his ex-wife Pegi to cancer in January. “Pegi was a very hard loss,” he said. “She was a great mom.” He said his new wife, 58-year-old actress Daryl Hannah, helps keep him feeling young and health.
“She's very health-oriented, which I never have been,” he explained. “Now I'm walking, swimming. Maybe tomorrow morning I'll be stand-up paddling. I lost between 30 and 35 pounds in six months.”
