The very public feud between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B – which has included name-calling, accusations of lying, and weaponized footwear – appears to be over.
The rappers and role models have called a truce.
“Ok you guys, let’s focus on positive things only from here on out,” Minaj tweeted late Monday. “We’re all so blessed. I know this stuff is entertaining & funny to a lot of people but I won’t be discussing this nonsense anymore.”
Cardi shared an image of the tweet on Instagram and captioned it: “Alright then! Let’s keep it positive and keep it pushing!”
Tension between the two women came to light in September when Cardi threw a shoe at Minaj at a New York Fashion Week event – reportedly because Minaj had liked, and then unliked, a tweet that criticized Cardi’s parenting skills.

The incident sparked a war of words. Cardi’s sister weighed in, accusing Minaj of leaking Cardi’s phone number (Minaj responded: “I’ve never leaked a number in my life”). Minaj accused Cardi of discouraging her husband Offset and fellow rapper 21 Savage of working with her.
Things got uglier in a series of video messages Cardi shared on social media. “You lie so much you can’t keep up with your f**king lies,” she said.
With a truce in place, Minaj has moved on to attacking shoe designer Steve Madden. When the rapper claimed she turned down a $4 million offer to collaborate with Madden, he fired back on Twitter.
“You can’t turn down an offer that was never made. #StopLying.”

In an expletive-filled response, Minaj tweeted: “We couldn’t work together cuz I said the shoes were ugly.” Iggy Azalea backed up Minaj.
On Tuesday, Madden tweeted that Minaj “is an incredibly talented artist but we couldn’t work together cuz the timing wasn’t right.” He said Cardi “came on the scene and I had a fantastic collaboration with her, and she is also an amazing talent.”
Madden said he loves both rappers’ music. “I hope they can reach some peace — together they could probably take over the world,” he tweeted. “There is a lot of negativity out there right now, and I shouldn’t have contributed to that.”
